Upper Level Whitehorn is notoriously difficult to spawn. However, there are some simple checks that you can make soon after entering Aveclyff to determine if the conditions have been met. At the end of the entrance tunnel you will encounter the first group of enemies. If they are Arachnids, then proceed. If you see Anthrovores, turn back and try again. Go through the door into the open area and look down. If there are two Dragons sitting at the bottom then the right group has spawned. Whitehorn replaces the Vultures in the Upper Level area, and the nearest group to check is in location G-12. If there are no Vultures in this location, then you have spawned a rare monster. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that it is Whitehorn, as these conditions also allow Nordri to put in an appearance. Proceed to location D-1 with fingers crossed. PC version: Whitehorn spawns when the first group of enemies is Anthrovores, then you see two Blackwings when you look down in the open area.(Including one Blackwing) Nightmare can also spawn under these conditions, before defeating Whitehorn.
