Any way to color the background?

yeh, but Merthos and Ferret want to keep it with the wikias template colours. Although i really dont like the off white ontop of white. Its extremly hard to see the cell borders. If we had visible cell borders, then it would look alot better. - Adie123 23:16, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
something like this with a small border, kind of ugly though, would prefer to bold/change the fontcolor for the rares. Also didn't mean the whole background just the ones for the boxes of the rares. Kaply 23:23, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
oh, like something you used earlier might be good.
) so which one are you choosing, the colour behind the text?... not sure theyll go for that :s - Adie123 23:32, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Well, best choice would be to bold/green the words. next would be the background, then the border box. Failing all those, maybe just some other way to denote that it's a rare. Kaply 23:35, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Ah, I'm only referring to the portion about the rares. The overall table would look the same, just the specific cells for the rares.

k, what about making Rares larger/bold and green?...note Fatal Fang above
perfect, that's exactly what I was referring to. How about in lime? Or is that too bright, trying to match the color from in-game.Kaply 23:51, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
hehe. we got there in the end. Although not sure merthos and ferret are gonna take it. But it does make sense to try and make them stand out. Lets keep thinking of more ways, just incase :) - Adie123 23:55, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
how about a black border around the letters, the lime on grey is hard to see. Kaply 23:56, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Doing it this way we could have the red mobs (Bandits) shown too. Do a sample of what u mentioned above, unless your asking me to try it. Which ill give it a go :)- Adie123 23:58, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
my html skills are horrible, best I can do is c&p and figure out from there :P Kaply 23:59, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Im no expert, im just fumbling about here until something works, but heres best ive come up with so far...Check Urraco. - Adie123 00:04, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Actually I like the current versions with the separate cells (and the one-time work required to set them up should not be that much). Esp. on the three-column tables it is a visual note that you can get only one of them.

For colors I prefer not to fiddle with links, they should look the same everywhere. Bold would be enough for my liking. But that's only my opinion, if the majority thinks otherwise... Although it should match with the overall theme of the wiki and, well, blue combined with green...

Also I've seen a table somewhere with included respawn info, I think that's a good idea. - Merthos 06:17, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm thinking it's a better idea to switch to a two column table because this would allow for more room for multiple zones. Like take Flaumello Tower, it's already got 11 separate areas, mmm well, with 22 columns I suppose it's still not going to be pretty. Well, a more reasonable area would be third senbur with it's link to second and final fortress. Kaply 10:49, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
I see what you mean, but those are two different things IMO. There should be one table under each area with only the spawn pattern for this map. The tables for the complete location, well, there is an example at Talk:Mt. Vackel but that does not scale. Maybe just list the set combinations? - Merthos 11:33, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

The problem i see with the original theme, is the fact that there isnt a visual cell border. For me, it makes it hard to workout exactly whats going on with the table. Yes, we understand it cos we are working on it, but for someone who comes on just to find info may struggle to work it out. Keep the theme but lets either have a darker background or introduce darker cell borders. Off white ontop of white doesnt work (as far as the local bestiary is concerned). - Adie123 11:26, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Well, I did not create it and I have my own style sheet. So as long css is used for the formating you can always change it. - Merthos 11:33, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Check Local Bestiary V3+4 above. Maybe this is acceptable?... added border but kept the color theme. - Adie123 11:57, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Local Bestiary V6 looks promising to me :P...Kept the theme, no cell borders, a little more spacing between sets and a description of how to use as a header. I changed Dillmoors Local bestiary and added a better noticable link to Rare Spawn info (which i also added data to) :) - Adie123 00:04, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

How bad is that with the rare in lime? Talk:The Southwestern Road Kaply 01:02, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

It looks a little off from the wikias colour scheme. :) - Adie123 12:32, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Loss of Spawn Table Data with Conversion to Local BestiaryEdit

I was just thinking.... The good thing about the temporary spawn tables, was the fact that they had more info on them. i.e. shows which map and what coords the Rares were at. Someone hunting through for rares only needed the one page open of the table. This conversion to the 'Local Bestiary' table doesnt have this info. So people are forced to jump all over the place to different pages to get this info. I really feel that rare map and coords need to be present in some way. The key element of having a great guide/wiki is to have as much data as possible in one location, rather than having it spread all over the place. - Adie123 16:47, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

I say someone needs to dot the maps and put it right next to the tables to make it even easier. Also separated based upon spawn sets. Just having the coordinates is a pain to cross reference with the maps also :P Kaply 19:27, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Thats gonna be really tricky. Having 1 map at te side is gonna take up alot of room, never mind having multiple maps for alot of locations. Adie123 19:45, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
It's probably more effective with maps in the simple locations like heroic ramparts. Just say, if you see x+y mobs look on this map for rare spawns. If you see a third type of creature no rares will spawn. Then just have 2 maps, one for each type. Although I suppose there are some cases where people are looking for other monsters as well like brynhilde or manhunters for quests, etc. Kaply 19:50, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
I think that may need to come later once all/most have a table, then see if maps can work. Cos im not seeing it working in my head at the moment hehe - Adie123 19:58, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
