Sometimes generosity is bad for youEdit

In one playthrough I've happened to gather upgrade components for Pagus's commander's rod +3 into elite's version over a few fights, and exited to the World Map while having an elsewhere looted Elite's Rod+0 in inventory. Pagus still requested the +0 one last time. I've entered Athlum, opened inventory menus and saw him having the +3. Hence, equip requests are being queued before upgrades application. I don't really know any way to check if the factual upgrade (as in the weapon switch accompanied by consumption of components) is applied before or after the possible weapon switch due to the equipment request having been granted. Either way, granting the request in such situations robs partymember's weapon of all exp accumulated, I guess. 18:44, June 20, 2013 (UTC)

What happened is completely logical. Even though Pagus has the materials to upgrade to the Elite's Rod and retain the EXP, the one in your inventory is still of a higher rank than what he currently has equipped. Since Equipment Requests take place after fighting enough battles, they will always pop up before any sort of upgrading can be done (you have to travel first). The upgrades themselves only occur after you've visited a town area, which means that this event will almost always occur after a potential request. Zephyr (talk) 19:03, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
