(PC) With regards to Shielding Demonblade and Demonsblow, how is the damage calculated with this accesssory? (i.e. The Demonblade is a slashing weapon but Demonsblow has a Maul modifier. If Demonsblow was activated, would the damage output be affected by both +5 Maul and +5 Slash?) 210.186.17.15 06:20, January 25, 2014 (UTC)
- Unless you're playing the X360 version, it really doesn't matter. Adding on modifier/elemental bonuses seems to be broken on the PC under most ordinary circumstances. Ran a short test with 3 Demonblade users (all STR255, just in case) at maxed morale against Bai Ze (had a convenient save). Adding 1 Damascene Bracelet did practically nothing, while having 2 resulted in about a 1K damage increase on the weakest hit (20K -> 21K). With 2 bracelets, that's a 60% increase to both Slash and Maul. However, I think only the Maul bonus would be applied since the game likely uses the art's modifiers for calculating the extra damage. Can't exactly check because of the aforementioned broken elemental damage since the easiest would be throwing Force Majeure at something in combination with different bonuses and comparing that damage to a target that either resists or allows normal damage through. - Would that mean that anything with a [Katana]+4 or a [Power Grip]+4 yields better damage than this item? Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but when I click on the Slash and Maul link it says "Added to the base damage type Attack Power" and I thought it meant it was adding a flat +30 ATK instead of +30%. - Those effects would indeed yield better damage since it's a straight boost to the damage source rather than looking at whether or not it's hitting against a weakness. Considering that practically everything worth using WAs on are relatively resistant to elemental damage, it's pointless to boost it.
